How to Whiten Your Teeth at Home
A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about the importance of accessorizing and how accessories can take your outfit from basic to . One of our biggest accessory is actually our smile.
I’ve always been a sucker for beautiful smiles as far as I can remember but my smile is not something that I was ever super confident about. I remember back in high school I used to have a friend who had the most beautiful brightest smile and I remember thinking “gosh, I which I had a perfect smile like that”. Years passed, I grew up, moved to America, had kids, started drinking coffee every morning… I could go on… my teeth became more and more yellow and I started to notice dark lines in between my teeth that I were never there before.
When Smile Brilliant contacted me to try out their kit, I knew it was the opportunity I was looking for because whitening my teeth had been on my bucket list forever but I never got around doing it. It was either that I was too busy with work or taking care of my children or that I just couldn’t afford it. Here in Chicago doctor’s teeth whitening costs around $400+ and I knew I didn’t want to spend that much. Instead, I knew I wanted to try something that’s safe yet affordable. I also knew I wanted something that would be convenient for me and not too time consuming because I’m already very busy as is.
The whole at home whitening process turned out to be very easy and convenient for me because I could do it while doing other things. I would get home from work, eat dinner then apply the gel on my teeth and keep it on while I was doing other things like reading my emails or packing meals for the following day, helping my son with his homework, doing my hair, applying a facemask or watching a movie. I would keep it on for 3 hours max as recommended on the instructions that come with the kit. Then I would rinse off the whitening gel and apply the desensitizing gel to re-hydrate my teeth. It took me roughly 3 weeks to go through the whole process. Below you can see my before and after pictures.
I also did a bit of research myself about the science behind Smile Brilliant and why it’s a safe to use at home. Smile Brilliant whitening gel contains a safe concentration carbamide peroxide which is a stain removing agent. When used as recommended, carbamide peroxide is safe to use at home without supervision and produce the same brilliant results as in-office treatments. Read more about Smile Brilliant science here.
Smile Brilliant Team also mentions on their website that results will change for each individual. Some people’s teeth will whiten better than others, so you could get even better results than this.
